I found an excerpt from the Manifesto collective Stalker - that feeds my search for work with students and "Small urbanities" of Co. Ktha.
- Using a metaphor, can be described as a journey Stalker in the attic of the town, the place where civilization stores its garbage and its memory and where they enter new relationships, new people and new activities constantly changing. We believe that these territories should be seen as places which more than all the others represent our civilization, its become unconscious and plural. We therefore propose that the art used as a means of access and celebration of life, understanding their values and their messages. We chose the course as the art form that serves to underline a place physically by drawing a line as a pre-architecture that pervades a new nature. The fact of crossing, as an instrument of knowledge and phenomenological interpretation of symbolic territory, is a form read operations and therefore transformation of a territory, a project.
STALKER
perceive the difference in completing the passage, between what is safe, daily and what is uncertain, to discover, generate a feeling of disorientation, a state of apprehension that leads to an intensification of perceptual capacities, suddenly assumes a sense of space, everywhere, the possibility of discovery, fear of an unwanted encounter, the look is penetrating , the ear begins to listen.
territories currently
They form the negative of the city built the interstitial areas and marginal areas or abandoned in the process of transformation. These are the places of memory and the repressed unconscious of urban systems become, the dark side of the city, areas of conflict and contamination between organic and inorganic, between nature and artifice. Here, the metabolism of scrap man by nature produces a new horizon of unexplored territories, mutants, and in fact, virgins, called Stalker that current territories, underlining the current term "becoming other" of these spaces . "The present is not what we are but rather what we become, what we are becoming, to know each other, our becoming other" (M. Foucault). Such territories are hardly intelligible, and therefore be able to project, because they are deprived of a location in the present and therefore alien to contemporary languages. Their knowledge can be acquired through direct experience; the archives of these experiments are the only form of mapping of current territories.
